TP53 and cancer: These rare cancers (0.3–0.4 cases per year per million children under the age of 15 years) are exceptionally prevalent in southern Brazil (3.4–4.2 cases per million) [14], where they are almost invariably linked to a specific germline mutation of TP53 (c.1010G>A, p.R337H) [15], [16], identified as a founder mutation [17].
