Consistent with the findings in airway epithelial cells, we found that IL-1β could induce the IL-8 expression and the nuclear translocation of NF-κB in nasal epithelial cells in CC10-knockout mice and CC10 plasmid transfection could suppress such change, which further supports the therapeutic function of CC10 gene transfer in controlling airway inflammation. The gene discussed is CXCL8; the disease is inflammatory response.
