ACE and infarction: Overall, at the time of the study, 69% of the patients had a history of hypertension, 36.7% smoked, 25.7% were diabetic, 22.6% were dyslipidemic, 41.7% had previously used angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors (ACEIs)/angiotensin II receptor blockers (ARBs), 8.8% had prior percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), 15.5% had been affected by prior coronary artery disease (CAD) with greater than 50% stenosis, 16.3% had suffered from prior infarction and 8.5% of the patients had previously undergone coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery.
