Epithelial cells responses to infection are protective against T. muris[37], [38] and the expression of cxcr2 in T. suis infected pigs may relate to epithelial cell signaling as well as the expression of il13ra2 for its role in both epithelial and smooth muscle signaling (Madden et al., personal communication) and localized control of inflammation [30], [39].
