Intriguingly, Pax8 modulates the expression of several genes involved in carcinogenesis and thyroid malignancies (phosphatidyl-inositol/insulin and MAPK pathways) and cell cycle processes (CDKN2BCCNB1 and CCNB2, among others) (Additional file 11). The gene discussed is CCNB2; the disease is thyroid gland disorder.
