The multiple univariate logistic-regression analysis of 9 gene targets (VAX1, KCNV1, ECEL1, TMEM26, TAL1, PROX1, SLC6A20, LMX1A and CFTR) showed that VAX1 and LMX1A methylation was more common in urine samples from recurrent cases than in samples from primary cases in the initial analysis of 212 BC patients (primary: 157; recurrence: 55), with HR = 2.37 (CI 95%, 1.27 to 4.44, P<0.05) and HR = 2.59 (CI 95%, 1.01 to 6.65, P<0.05), respectively (Figure 4). Here, SLC6A20 is linked to breast cancer.
