Patients with cervical compared to trochanteric HF had higher serum levels of adiponectin (18.5 ± 7.3 versus 16.3 ± 7.3 ng/mL, P = 0.019) and resistin (20.1 ± 10.5 versus 16.9± ng/mL, P = 0.014), lower leptin/resistin ratio (1.1 ± 1.4 versus 1.7 ± 2.6, P = 0.025), and PTH concentrations (5.9 ± 3.6 versus 8.0 ± 6.9 pmol/L, P = 0.001), but did not differ significantly regarding other parameters. The gene discussed is LEP; the disease is hydrops fetalis.
