FOXM1 and infection: Table 1 shows that the suppression of p27Kip1 expression was accompanied by the increment in the levels of B1 and FoxM1 proteins, which suggest that the reduced p27Kip1 expression allows islets cells to enter the cell cycle. The control islets infected with the non-targeting lentivirus had a p27Kip1/actin ratio of 0.56 ± 0.11 (n = 6), 0.80 ± 0.18 (n = 4), and 0.95 ± 0.24 (n = 4) at 24, 54, and 96 hours after infection, respectively, in comparison with the ratios obtained for the freshly isolated islets.
