A review of concomitant medications amongst participants revealed that more MCIs were on medication for diabetes than the other groups (nNE = 0; nMCI = 5; nnewAD = 0; noldAD = 0), whereas more AD patients (both new and old) were on sedatives/antidepressants (nNE = 1; nMCI = 1; nnewAD = 4; noldAD = 5) and acetyl cholinesterase inhibitors (nNE = 0; nMCI = 0; nnewAD = 6; noldAD = 8). This evidence concerns the gene ACHE and diabetes mellitus.
