Plants like Withania somnifera and Bacopa monniera show cardioprotective effects via adaptation which included augmentation of antioxidant enzymes (SOD, CAT& GSHPx), endogenous antioxidants (GSH) and stress proteins (HSP72) in the heart [39,40,41,42] Therefore, myocardial adaptation may be a promising approach to reduce cellular injury due to myocardial infarction [43].
