A statistically significant increase in the number of hematoxylin and eosin (H&E) stained cells, and in Thy-1, Brn3a and NeuN-positive cells in the GCL was observed in hypertensive eyes submitted RON at 3 or 6 weeks of ocular hypertension, as compared with hypertensive eyes submitted to a sham procedure (Figure 4, Table 1). The gene discussed is RBFOX3; the disease is ocular hypertension.
