ADA and tuberculosis: In a high HIV and TB prevalence region, the use of ADA at a higher cut point (47 IU/L) compared to the standard cut point (30 IU/L) in which a subgroup of HIV tested patients were studied, it was noted that ADA increases its specificity while use of the standard cut point (30 IU/L) results in loss of specificity but an increase in its sensitivity and thus improves its ability to rule out disease.
