Microglial cells also augment inflammatory responses by releasing various mediators, such as, cytokines, reactive oxygen species, complement factors, neurotoxic secretary products, and free radicals [7], [8], [9], [10], [11], [12], [13], [14], [15], and many of these mediators are known to stimulate amyloid precursor protein (APP) deposition and contribute to neuronal death in AD [7], [8], [9], [10], [11], [12], [13], [14], [15].
