CRP and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease: Compared with controls, the levels of CRP were higher in COPD patients as measured using both assays (CRP (Ne) 7.3 (11.8) vs. 3.3 (3.2) mg/L, p = 0.002; CRP (ELISA) 3.4 (3.2) vs. 2.9 (3.9) mg/L, p = 0.026; Figure 1, Table 2).
