When all invasive cases were considered together, the data were also suggestive of a potential interaction between HER2/neu and ß-catenin stabilization: nucleocytoplasmic ß-catenin was detected in 43.8% of HER2/neu-expressing breast carcinomas, but only in 34.2% of HER2/neu-negative cases (Table 5; not significant). This evidence concerns the gene ERBB2 and breast carcinoma.
