The fMLP-induced changes of intracellular calcium concentration were significantly increased in monocytes from patients with essential hypertension compared to normotensive control subjects (fMLP 100 nmol/L; 275±42 vs. 150±34; fMLP 50 nmol/L; 132±15 vs. 70±15; fMLP 10 nmol/L; 102±26 vs. 38±9; each n = 10, p<0.05). Here, FPR1 is linked to hypertensive disorder.
