In agreement with previous reports, naïve, untreated, SchuS4 infected animals have significantly higher concentrations of TNF-α, IL-6, IL-1β, MCP-1(CCL2), and IL-10 in the lung and spleen on day 4 after infection compared to uninfected controls (Figure 7, data not shown and [47], [48]).
