In conclusion, by comparing regional constituents of pathological subsets, incidences of 1p/19q co-deletion and IDH1/2 mutation in Chinese patients with gliomas, preferential distribution of tumor subsets, 1p/19q co-deletion and IDH1/2 mutation was confirmed in certain brain regions, implying their distinctiveness in tumor genesis and predictive value for prognosis in Chinese patient populations. This evidence concerns the gene IDH1 and central nervous system cancer.
