Interestingly, other transglutaminases may play a role in extraintestinal CD: TG3, expressed in skin cells and found in relation with dermatitis herpetiformis, and TG6, expressed by central nervous system neurons and probably related to gluten ataxia, epilepsy and intracerebral calcifications [9, 42]. This evidence concerns the gene TGM6 and dermatitis herpetiformis.
