HDAC2 and breast carcinoma: HDAC1 and HDAC2 heterodimer levels seem to depend on the cell type, because it was shown that 80% to 90% of HDAC1 and HDAC2 proteins were associated with each other in the nucleus of human breast cancer MCF-7 cells [38], whereas 40% to 60% of HDAC1 and HDAC2 proteins were found to be free from each other in mouse embryonic fibroblasts [39].
