APOB and Insulin resistance: Indeed, a kinetic study has shown that adiponectin, but not leptin or resistin, was the most significant predictor for plasma VLDL apoB concentration, independently of both insulin resistance and size of adipose tissue compartments in subjects with a large range of BMI (from 22 to 35 kg/m2) but that plasma VLDL apoB kinetic was controlled differently, with adiponectin and total body fat regulating catabolism and insulin resistance regulating hepatic secretion [19].
