DRD2 and Tourette syndrome: The DRD2 gene, and especially the Taq1 A1 allele, has been associated with neuropsychiatric disorders in general, including alcoholism, other addictions (e.g., carbohydrate) [17,18,19,20,21,22,23], and it also may be involved in co-morbid antisocial personality disorder symptoms [24], especially in children and adults with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) or Tourette Syndrome [5,25] and high novelty seeking [26,27,28,29].
