Whereas numerous metastatic nodules developed in the lung over the 4 weeks following injection of one and half million CDH11 shRNA vector-transfected cells (SIHN011A-57/5) (Figure 4F), significantly lower metastasis formation was observed with the same number of scrambled shRNA-transfected control cells (SIHN011A-Scb) in the identical period (Figure 4F), supporting the idea that CDH11 is an inhibitor of cancer progression and dissemination.
