In this study we report initial estimates of the concentration of β-catenin, Axin, APC, GSK3β and E-cadherin in five mammalian cell lines (HEK293T (Human Kidney Epithelial) [37], Madin Darby canine kidney (MDCK, Normal Canine Kidney Epithelial) [38], [39], Caco-2 (human intestinal epithelial cell line from a colorectal carcinoma) [40], SW480 (Human Colorectal Adenocarcinoma) [41] and SW480APC (Human Colorectal Adenocarcinoma expressing full-length recombinant APC) [42]) in the basal (non-stimulated) state. The gene discussed is AXIN1; the disease is colorectal adenocarcinoma.
