Human SSNA1 and its orthologues are predicted to assume a coiled-coil conformation, a property shared with several other autoantigens associated with rheumatic disease, including the golgin family of Golgi-localised proteins (which are linked to systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and Sjögren's syndrome [42]) and the centrosomal protein, pericentrin [43]. Here, SSNA1 is linked to Sjogren syndrome.
