We demonstrated that topical application of SD decreases expression level of cyclooxygenase-2 (Cox-2), a protein marker for inflammation and enhances cellular expression levels of cleaved-Caspase-3 and -8, molecular markers for apoptosis in female CD-1 mice with 7,12-dimethybenz(a)antracene (DMBA) initiated and 12-0-tetradecanoylphorbol-13-acetate (TPA) promoted skin cancer [1]. This evidence concerns the gene PTGS2 and skin neoplasm.
