The POAG aqueous had a significant increase in IFN-γ, IL-12, and CXCL9 concentrations, thus suggesting a Th1-type proinflammatory response, while the PACG aqueous only had elevated levels of CXCL-8 and CXCL-9 when compared to the cataract controls. Here, CXCL8 is linked to open-angle glaucoma.
