In A2780 ovarian cancer cell lines, a 2–3 fold over-expression of eIF6 enhances the cell invasive properties, and is moreover sufficient to rescue completely the inhibition of migration and invasiveness caused by treatment with GSI, suggesting that eIF6 is a main downstream target of Notch signaling in the pathway controlling cell motility/invasiveness. This evidence concerns the gene EIF6 and ovarian carcinoma.
