Although these examples of chromosomal imbalance involve large regions of mouse chromosome 3 that include the region containing Fbxw7, our previous studies demonstrated that Fbxw7 was indeed the driver gene for these losses, since tumors exhibited intragenic Fbxw7 deletions or mutations, and lymphomas from p53+/−Fbxw7+/− mice did not show any evidence of significant deletions on this chromosome [15]. The gene discussed is TP53; the disease is lymphoma.
