PTX3 and heart failure: Matsui et al. found that the expression of more than 3.1 ng/mL of PTX3 in patients with UAP/non-ST-elevation MI (n = 204) was predictive of the occurrence of a 6-month cardiac event, including cardiac death, rehospitalization for ACS, and rehospitalization for worsening heart failure [18], while Latini et al. have shown that the expression of more than 10.73 ng/mL of PTX3 predicted 3-month mortality in patients with AMI (n = 724) [19].
