Apart from being a diagnostic biomarker, the role of SATB2 as a prognostic biomarker in CRC has been implicated in another study, where SATB2 was found to be downregulated at the gene expression level in a metastatic CRC cell line and low immunohistochemical expression of SATB2 was demonstrated to be associated with poor prognosis in an analysis of 146 CRC samples (Wang et al, 2009). Here, SATB2 is linked to colorectal carcinoma.
