Our multivariate analyses of a variety of laboratory parameters as continuous variables revealed that post-operative myocardial injury in patients with cervical HF was independently predicted only by a decrease in eGFR, while in patients with trochanteric HF also by increased PTH levels and decrease in serum 25(OH) D. Lower leptin levels were independently associated with in-hospital death in the former group and with need of institutionalization in the latter group. The gene discussed is PTH; the disease is hydrops fetalis.
