Despite this limitation a further advantage of in vivo imaging is the early detection of metastatic spread as well as growth of independent secondary carcinoma as observed in the present study whereby NDEA treated transgenic animals presented metastasizing liver cancer into lung but also displayed primary lung cancer growth; note, other investigators reported similar metastatic spread in a c-Myc and TGFα co-expressing transgenic mouse model [11], [33]. This evidence concerns the gene MYC and carcinoma.
