Sjögren's syndrome (SS) is an autoimmune disease that involves the exocrine glands and generally induces xerostomia and xeroftalmia (sicca syndrome) due to an involvement of salivary and lachrymal glands in the presence of immunological alterations represented by antinuclear autoantibodies and antiepithelial neutrophil-activating peptide (ANA, SSA/Ro, SSB/La). Here, CALR is linked to Sjogren syndrome.
