Other genes implicated in our study include MRPL12, a downstream target of the REIC/Dkk3 tumour suppressor in prostate cancer [11], CIB2 (a potential stress response protein linking to apoptotic pathways) [48], NEK1 (down regulation of which may worsen the ability of the cell to repair DNA damage) [36] and DLST (a component of the respiratory chain).
