Among the analytes not significantly associated with COPD in the unrestricted analyses, only carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) was significantly elevated 60-82% in the serum samples of current smokers with COPD compared with healthy control current smokers (FDR = 1.2-5.0 × 10-5). Here, CEACAM5 is linked to chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
