Compared with controls, LOAD cases were older (79.8 vs. 73.1 years old), included more females (64% vs. 52%), had a lower education level (≤ 6 years: 50% vs. 11%), and included fewer with hypertension history (38% vs. 54%) or hyperlipidemia (18% vs. 30%), and more ApoE e4 carriers (39% vs. 15%, Table 2). This evidence concerns the gene APOE and hyperlipidemia.
