It has been shown that in women with adenomyosis, nitric oxide synthase (NOS), XO, SOD, and catalase levels do not fluctuate and are over expressed [63, 64]; interestingly, as already mentioned, administration of GnRH-A suppresses the expression of both eNOS and iNOS and the formation of peroxynitrite in adenomyosis [40]. The gene discussed is GNRH1; the disease is adenomyosis.
