Hypoxia-inducible factor-1 (HIF-1) is a basic helix–loop–helix Per–Arnt–Sim protein (bHLH-PAS) consisting of α and β subunits, and is a key transcription factor regulating cellular responses to hypoxia [10][11], and can regulate neovascularization and activate the expression of many hypoxia-response genes, leading to a close association with the HCC ecosystem for tumor growth, infiltration, metastasis, and prognosis [12][13]. This evidence concerns the gene HIF1A and hepatocellular carcinoma.
