In addition, we demonstrated that serum levels and expression levels in atheromatous plaque of VEGF-C, but not VEGF-A, were significantly increased in HFD-fed apoE-deficient mice with advanced atherosclerosis, suggesting that VEGF-C was more closely related to atherosclerosis with dyslipidemia than VEGF-A.
