Various factors have been identified so far as promoters of colon cancer progression, most common of which are the VEGF (vascular endothelial growth factor) family, the FGF (fibroblast growth factor) family and the PDGF (platelet-derived growth factor) family, their production within the neoplasm correlating with tumor grade and shorter patient survival [4]–[8]. This evidence concerns the gene VEGFA and malignant colon neoplasm.
