In light of these findings, we undertook the study of the role of LPA1 in the spontaneous dissemination of breast cancer cells to lungs and bone taking advantage of: i) the development of a new antagonist of LPA1/3 receptors Debio 0719, ii) the use of a mouse model exploiting the 4T1 mouse mammary cancer cell line which recapitulates the distinct steps of metastasis when engrafted into the mammary glands of syngenic BALB/C mice (18) and iii) a large collection of mRNA from primary tumors of breast cancer patients. The gene discussed is LPAR1; the disease is breast carcinoma.
