Most of the observed inflammatory genes that were only decreased in the RYGB with omentectomy cohort are reportedly associated with macrophage activation (CH25H, CXCL2, SOCS3, LBP, NFIL3, ZFP36) [56], [57], [58], [59], [60], consistent with the systemic decrease in MCP-1, or associated with inflammatory events surrounding sarcopenia (ANKRD1, LBP) [61], [62]. This evidence concerns the gene ZFP36 and sarcopenia.
