In fact, a recent study [22] has suggested that LGALS3 encoding protein, galectin-3, is cleaved during the progression of PCa and might be associated with the progression and metastasis of PCa cells; Sardana et al [23] have suggested galectin-3 as one of the candidate marker proteins shed and secreted by prostate tumor cells.
