We further analyzed the signaling pathway miR-451 might regulate in human glioma and found that miR-451 modulated the expression of multiple downstream molecules such as LKB1, AMPK, PI3K and AKT, suggesting that miR-451 may act as a tumor-suppressor factor and regulate the PI3K/AKT pathway through LKB1 and AMPK. This evidence concerns the gene STK11 and neoplasm.
