We found that the simultaneous treatment of FASN+/HER2+ breast cancer cells with G28UCM plus trastuzumab or lapatinib (which involve predominantly HER2), resulted in a strong synergistic interaction, and that this was also observed with gefitinib or erlotinib (inhibitors of HER1 but also HER2 tyrosine kinase activities) [48,49]. The gene discussed is EGFR; the disease is breast carcinoma.
