CHRNA1 and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease: From the most recent studies focusing on the association between genetic polymorphisms in 15q25 locus and different subtypes of COPD (airway obstruction and emphysema) [24,25], we summarized the current evidence of variants in CHRNA. We also performed a meta-analysis on published case-control studies aiming to confirm the effect of nAChR variants on susceptibility to COPD.
