VWF and rheumatoid arthritis: Endothelial cell activation markers were increased in RA as well: sVCAM-1 (491 (range 274 to 909) vs. 354 ng/ml (range 224 to 691) in HC), vWF (154 (range 49 to 603) vs. 97 ng/ml (range 22 to 298) in HC) and thrombomodulin (8.5 (range 1 to 77) vs. 3.6 (range 1 to 32) ng/ml in HC) were all significantly elevated in patients (Figure 2).
