Furthermore, tumor-specific survival of patients with a CAV1 staining score of 2 or 3 (n = 50) in the tumor cell membrane was slightly but insignificantly shorter compared with that of patients with a score of 1 (n = 85) or 0 (n = 34) with a 5-year tumor specific survival rate of 61.9%, 72.8%, and 72.7%, respectively (p = 0.56, Mantel-Cox; additional file 4, figure S4).
