In this study we show that expression of the coding regions of the three main ERG rearrangements (EWS/ERG, FUS/ERG and tERG) up-regulate PIM1, an oncogene found increased in a broad range of tumours of both epithelial and haematological origin, including PCa [22]–[27] where its over-expression has been associated with genomic instability [28]–[30]. This evidence concerns the gene ERG and posterior cortical atrophy.
